In addition to rehearsals and events, choristers will sign up during lunches for afternoon activities, which include: outdoor sports, swimming, and inside games. The course has access to the college’s swimming pool, student lounge areas and outdoor sports fields in the area.
Special events for choristers happen throughout the week as well. A camper Olympics event where campers participate in team-building activities. On Thursday, campers go on a trip to the local movie theater. A DJ hosts our Friday night camper dance (some choristers make it a goal to get the resident camp director to dance!). A Variety Show offers campers the chance to showcase their talents as well as time to present proctor group skits they prepare during the week.
Adult participants have numerous opportunities for personal enrichment and fellowship throughout the week, including:
- Adult Enrichment Sessions, in past years have included such things as Yoga for Singers, How to Organize a Concert Series at Your Church, Music for Vacation Bible School, a Choral Anthem Reading Session, and more.
- Compline Choir, an opportunity to sing anthems and motets in addition to plainchant psalms and responsories from the Office of Compline (Night Prayer).
- Resource Room, a place to share anthems, organ music, books, CDs, etc.
- Social Gatherings, such as a meet and greet reception on the first night, and dinner at a fine local restaurant later in the week.
