RSCMA King’s College Course offers an opportunity for one or two young organists, aged 25 and younger, to be mentored throughout the week by our Course Organists Mark Laubach (Organist and Choirmaster of St. Stephen’s, Wilkes-Barre, winner of the AGO 1984 NYACOP, and international recitalist) and Thomas Sheehan (Associate University Organist of Memorial Church, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA and graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music).
Our Organ Scholar(s) share some playing responsibilities for daily services with the course organists, play organ voluntaries, and accompany a house anthem. Much of the program is based on experiential observation, as well as exclusive access to and participation in rehearsals, rather than intensive playing.
Applications will be accepted February 1-April 15, and participants will be notified of their acceptance by April 30. Click Kings-Organ-Scholar-Application-2022 to download the application.
