Organ Scholar Program

RSCMA King’s College Course offers an opportunity for one or two young organists, aged 25 and younger, to be mentored throughout the week by our Organ Scholar Coordinator John Bradford Bohl (Organist of The Cathedral of All Saints, Albany, NY and graduate of Indiana University), and Course Organists Mark Laubach (Organist and Choirmaster of St. Stephen’s, Wilkes-Barre, winner of the AGO 1984 NYACOP, and international recitalist) and Thomas Sheehan (Associate University Organist of Memorial Church, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA and graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music).

In addition to daily private lessons and instruction on choral accompanying, hymn-playing, and improvisation, these young organists share playing responsibilities for daily services with the course organists, play organ voluntaries, and accompany a house anthem.

Applications will be accepted January 15-April 1, and participants will be notified of their acceptance by April 15.  Click King’s Organ Scholar Application 2017 to download the application.
